Carved bone Chinese blossoms add a touch of nature and connect metal framed pieces to a mother of pearl antique button. Mixing the Asian influence of that time with assorted black and white pattern add a strong contrast when worn.

SKETCHBOOK NOTES: I found where the bugs came from. Creative salvage hit Paris in the 60’s. Bulgari and Cartier used insects, glitz and pearls to invent a new look. From fake Faux to real, rows of spherical baubles and beads snugly hung from chains. With great ease this piece will be a show stopper when worn.

KAT STYLE NOTE: This piece is an all season look. I've shown you this piece is light enough to wear in spring and summer colors. When worn with fall and winter darks the look - really soars!

I passed a Paris store where Art Deco was being revived as a black, white, angular creation, with silver and gold. The stunning contrast was startling. The combination has lived on from Chanel’s 20’s to today. This era of design has influenced many, from architects to fashion designers. Like magic it came together when the black feature medallion showed up. This collectible piece should be loved for its timeless design.
